Former Resident Technical Officer Charged with Alleged Corruption Involving S$50,500
On 27 April 2022, Seow Koon Thong (“Seow”) ( 邵坤通 ,59-year-old male Singaporean), was charged in Court for alleged corruption offences. At the material time, Seow was a Resident Technical Officer of Surbana Site Supervisors Pte Ltd (“SSS”).
2. Between 2018 and 2021, Seow allegedly obtained bribes totalling S$50,500 from various subcontractors in return for refraining to show disfavour to these subcontractors in his assessment of work performed by them at the Rivervale Shores N1 C30 project. For his actions, Seow faces nine charges for offences under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, of which five charges are amalgamated pursuant to Section 124(4) and punishable under Section 124(8)(a)(ii) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
3. Singapore adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. Any person who is convicted of a corruption offence can be fined up to S$100,000 or sentenced to imprisonment of up to five years or both.

5. Where possible, the report should include the following information:
