Brought To Book
Individuals who engage in corrupt practices in return for gains and advantages will be brought to book.
2. On 23 July 2018, two individuals were charged with the following corruption offences:
i) Koh Siong Wee Ivan, 48-year old former Manager at the National Library Board, for 56 charges for his receipt of a total of about $595,230 from one Low Pok Woen as gratification for advancing the business interest of Low with the National Library Board, offences punishable under Sections 6(a) and 5(a)(ii) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
ii) Low Pok Woen, 49-year old Director of Database Resource Services Pte Ltd, for 56 charges of corruptly giving a total of about $595,230 to Koh as gratification for advancing the business interest of Low with the National Library Board, offences punishable under Sections 6(b) and 5(b)(ii) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
3. Singapore adopts a zero tolerance approach towards corruption. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau takes a serious view of any corrupt practices and will not hesitate to take action against any party involved in such acts.
