No Free Pass With Corruption

On 20 September 2017, Lim Zhi Yin, Catherine, a 26-year old Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Officer, will be charged for seven counts of corruptly accepting and corruptly agreeing to accept $1,680 from one Lim Boon Ian, Raymond, as a reward for granting 30-day social visit passes to various Thai female nationals, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
3. For his part, Lim Boon Ian, Raymond has been sentenced to 8 months’ imprisonment for corruption on 24 April 2017.
4. Singapore adopts a zero tolerance approach towards corruption. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau takes a serious view of any corrupt practices and will not hesitate to take action against any party involved in such acts.
