Company Director and Former Project Manager Charged with Alleged Corruption
On 2 July 2026, two individuals were charged in Court for alleged corruption offences. They are:
a) Senthilnathan Vanchinathan (“Vanchinathan”) (41-year-old male Singaporean), a project manager of Schindler Lifts Pte Ltd (“Schindler”) at the material time of the alleged offences; and
b) Weng Wu Hong (“Weng”) (翁武鸿, 35-year-old male Singaporean), Director of Hui Huang Elevator & Engineering Pte Ltd (“Hui Huang”) at the material time of the alleged offences.
2. Over four occasions, between 2021 to 2023, Vanchinathan allegedly accepted bribes in the form of a red packet and hampers amounting to at least S$800 from Weng. The bribes were rewards to recommend the award of lift modernisation and installation projects from Schindler to Hui Huang.
3. For their alleged actions, Vanchinathan and Weng each faces four charges for offences punishable under section 6(a) and 6(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (“PCA”), respectively.
4. Singapore adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. Any person convicted of a corruption offence under Section 6 of the PCA can be fined up to S$100,000 or sentenced to imprisonment not exceeding five years or to both.
5. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) looks into all corruption-related complaints and reports, including anonymous ones, and can be reached via the following channels:

6. Where possible, the report should include the following information:
a) Where, when and how did the alleged corrupt act happen?
b) Who was involved and what were their roles?
c) What was the bribe given and the favour shown?
7. Under the law, the identity of the person making the report is protected, except where the court finds that the person has intentionally made a false statement in his or her report. Informers may choose to remain anonymous when making the report.
